Your VFDs Can’t Handle the Power

Did you know that your blower VFDs create power that attempts to go back to the utility line? This can be problematic because most VFDs are not capable of handling this extra power. The result? Damage to the IGBTs in the drive, causing it to fail prematurely. Not cool, but we can help you out with that.

Here's the quick fix. Increase the deceleration time to match the amount of time it takes for the blower wheel (the impeller) to naturally slow down to a stop. This usually takes about 2 minutes. So, start with 120 seconds on the deceleration time. This will drastically increase the life of the VFD.

Need more info? We do this all day long and we love to help.
